The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Amiens is the largest cathedral in France. Construction was completed in the mid-13th century. The Fantasy for Organ & Orchestra accompanies this tour of the gothic cathedral.
The Fantasy is scored for strings (18 violins, 3 cellos, 9 double basses); brass (6 French Horns, trumpet); timpani; and organ. Garritan, Inc., recorded individual pipes of two instruments: (1) The late Baroque organ (built c.1748) at the Deanery Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, at Most, Czechia, and (2) the modern Schantz organ at Riverside First Baptist Church in Riverside, California (organ built 1966).
